Brooks Carver

Brooks Carver is a farmer, a writer of historical fiction and a poet. His family originally came from the Blue Ridge region of North Carolina. He has a reconstruction era novel set in eastern Tennessee, The Angels' Share. At present Brooks is working on the sequel and another manuscript about Confederate Cavalry General John Hunt Morgan entitled, Kentucky Rain. He also has a published anthology of his work called Pilgrim Heart. His poetry and short stories have appeared in numerous magazines. His work may be seen at www.prairie-sky-press.com. " I'm a stay-at-home mother of three wonderful beasts.  I've been married to a very nice man for nineteen years.  I stopped writing for almost twenty years and in the Spring of 2004 decided to try again. Charles P. Ries Charles P. Ries lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His narrative poems, short stories, interviews and poetry reviews have appeared in over one hundred and twenty print and electronic publications. He has received three Pushcart Prize nominations for his writing and most recently read his poetry on National Public Radio's Theme and Variations, a program that is broadcast over seventy NPR affiliates. He is the author of THE FATHERS WE FIND, a novel based on memory. Ries is also the author of five books of poetry - the most recent entitled, The Last Time which was released by The Moon Press in Tucson, Arizona. He is the poetry editor for Word Riot (www.wordriot.org) and on the board of the Woodland Pattern Bookstore in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lauara Stamps

Laura Stamps is an award-winning poet and novelist. Over six hundred of her poems, short stories, and poetry book reviews have appeared in literary journals, magazines, anthologies, and broadsides, including the Louisiana Review, The Pittsburgh Quarterly, Poetry Midwest, Big City Lit, Poesy Magazine, American Writing, and the Chiron Review.
